Etsy Share & Save: what you keep on an order you drove yourself
Enrolled sellers get 6.5% of the order total back on eligible orders until January 4, 2027, and 4% after that. On a $30 order that is $1.95 now and $1.20 later. It only applies to orders the buyer reached through a link you shared.
Checked against Etsy's help page and announcement on 2026-11-03. The 6.5% rate has an end date, so read Etsy's pages again before you plan around it.
One order, three ways
A US shop, one order, no discount, not an Offsite Ads sale. The three columns differ only in the refund. The amounts are round numbers, not a typical order.

Rates: the 6.5% transaction fee and the US payment processing fee. The 4% and 6.5% columns take the refund off the transaction fee, to the cent.

What Etsy says it does
Share & Save refunds part of your Etsy fees on orders you bring to your shop yourself. To join, go to Shop Manager, then Marketing, then Share & Save, then Join now. Etsy's page names no joining fee and no cap on the refund, and says you can opt out and rejoin at any time. Source: Share & Save on Etsy's help pages.
The standard refund is 4% of the eligible order total, worked out the way the transaction fee is. Shipping and gift wrap you charge are part of that total. Etsy's own example is an order that comes to $100 with shipping, before taxes, which gets a $4 refund.
From October 20 to January 4, enrolled sellers get 6.5% instead. Etsy's holiday announcement calls that a refund of the full 6.5% transaction fee, and says it applies through January 4, 2027, after which the refund is 4%. The refund is paid instantly when the buyer completes the order, and shows as a line item in your balance under Recent activities.
Which orders qualify
The buyer has to order within 30 days of clicking a link you shared. The last link they clicked before buying is the one that counts.
- Counts: your shop link (yourshopname.etsy.com), links to individual listings and promo code links. In the Etsy Seller app only, review and shop section links count too.
- Does not count: links you send a buyer through Etsy Messages, or put in a listing description.
- Does not count: an order where the buyer's last visit came from an Offsite ad.
Using it in your numbers
The calculator has no Share & Save option. Set the transaction fee to 2.5% to model the 4% refund, or to 0% for the 6.5% refund. The two links under the example do that. Etsy doesn't say how it rounds the refund, so a cent either way is possible.
For pricing, use 4%. It is the rate Etsy states for after January 4, and Etsy doesn't say whether the 6.5% follows the order date or the click date. Treat 6.5% as extra on orders you know will be placed by then.
For scale: the same $30 order as an Offsite Ads order at 15% leaves you $12.00. Through your own link at 6.5% it leaves $18.45. Etsy's Offsite Ads page has the ad rates.
What Etsy doesn't say
None of these is in the pages we read.
- Whether the 6.5% follows the order date, the click date or the enrolment date. A buyer who clicks in December and orders after January 4 might get either rate.
- The time zone for October 20 and January 4.
- The year, on the help page. It gives October 20 to January 4. Only the announcement says 2027.
- What happens to the refund if the order is cancelled or refunded to the buyer.
- Which fees the refund covers. The help page says the 4% is calculated the way the transaction fee is, and the announcement calls the 6.5% the full transaction fee. The table treats it as a transaction fee refund and leaves the other fees alone.
- Any shop country or currency that is excluded. The help page lists no conditions beyond enrolling.
- What happens when a buyer clicks an Offsite ad first and your link second. The Share & Save page says the last link counts. The Offsite Ads page says an order is attributed when a buyer clicks an ad and buys within 30 days. Neither says whether such an order is refunded, charged the ad fee, or both.
The 6.5% rate also has its own terms page, Share & Save Holiday Promo Terms. We couldn't open it, so we don't know what it adds. Read it before you rely on any date here.
About this page
Keptsheet is a small, new brand. This page was built with AI tools, then checked against Etsy's pages and the calculator's arithmetic. We are not affiliated with Etsy. Nothing here is tax or accounting advice. More on who we are.
Keptsheet also sells a $9 spreadsheet with one row per order, these same fees worked out for you, and your net profit by month: Keptsheet's tracker. It's our product, and you don't need it to use the calculator.
Assumptions and sources
- Rates were checked on 2026-11-03 from Etsy's help pages and may change without notice. None of those pages shows an effective date. We read the help pages, not Etsy's formal Fees & Payments Policy, which would not load.
- Sales tax and refunds are excluded.
- Results are estimates. Compare them with your Etsy payment statements.
- Fees are worked out on the order total after your discount. The listing fee is counted once per item sold.
- Not included: the 2.5% currency conversion fee, the shop set-up fee, Etsy Ads, and taxes Etsy withholds from some sellers, such as India's TCS and TDS.
- Etsy states the listing fee and the Offsite Ads cap in USD. The calculator treats them as plain numbers in your shop currency and does no currency conversion, so enter your own amounts.
